Getting prepped for Around The World in 80 Days!

The count down is on! In just 4 days Mark Beaumont will be setting off from Paris to embark on the ride of his life - to achieve what many believe is impossible - to cycle the world in 80 Days.

Now as much as the task ahead sounds daunting to some, unrealistic to others, when you break it down the logistics and facts show that it is technically achievable - IF the 'uncontrollables 'are kept to a bare minimum and are small ones at that.

The basic facts of what is required to cycle 80 Days:

- 240miles per day

- 4 long haul flights

- 16hours of riding

- 5hours of sleep at night

- 8,000 calories consumed

- minimum of 9 litres of water p/day

- even gives us 2 days of contingency

Over the coming weeks, Laura who is supporting Mark on this ride as his Performance Manager, will aim to write regular blogs in to how Mark is managing on the road, whilst sharing some of the 'behind the scenes' of the support team too. Watch this space :)!
